TCP Plays brings community and school based sports programs directly to where kids live and learn. 

At the core of our approach is Sports Sampling - giving kids the chance to try different sports, build confidence, and discover what they love. More exposure leads to more confidence, and more confidence leads to a lifelong passion for movement and play.

    The girls at my school were so excited to attend the TCP program every day and enhanced their physical and emotional health through the program. Having their own time in the gym for just girls allowed them to step forward confidently into leadership roles and help each other be successful in ways I haven't seen in coed settings. I witnessed positive relationships being formed between girls in different classes and grade levels that carried through into the school day. Personally, as a Physical Education Teacher, I felt I was able to connect with the girls and build relationships which was beneficial when they came to my class the next day. The girls also improved their sports skills and fitness level. When we had the program after school the girls were asking about it all day. It was one of the most positive programs I have been a part of in my 20 years as a teacher.

    The intramural program has been well-received at BPS 18. Students enjoy participating in the program. Since most of our students come from low, socioeconomic backgrounds, it has provided students with opportunities to participate in sports that they may not otherwise. Additionally, it is a great benefit of the program that the students are able to take a piece of equipment home to share with their siblings and families. From a PE department standpoint the ability to purchase equipment with additional funding has greatly enhanced the equipment that we can share with our students. We look forward to future opportunities to continue the program at our school as it provides a healthy way for students to be active..

    Pinehurst has been so fortunate to receive funding to run our intramural program the past two years. We have been able to introduce softball, lacrosse, pickleball, soccer, gaga ball, yoga and volleyball to over 200 girls. Even more amazing, they have been able to continue these sports at home because of the equipment given to every girl who participated. Many girls have joined local leagues/clinics because they wanted to continue with the sport they were introduced to through the intramural program. The girls start their day off the best possible way, with movement & friendship. TCP provided so many new opportunities and built confidence in our young female athletes. Thank you TCP for having such a positive impact on our school community!

    TCP, led by Kate Braun, has been instrumental in getting our female students involved in sports through their support of our intramural program. The students were so excited to be a part of something where they felt safe and comfortable to learn and explore different sports with their peers. Providing students this opportunity was nothing short of amazing! The girls were able to learn the sport, practice the sport, and further their development with the equipment that they brought home. We cannot thank TCP enough for this positive experience for our school community!
